ODIS held a fundraising lunch hosted by Trinity Presbysterian Church on the 21st of November 2010. Thanks to all who participated and especially to the folks at Extreme Cuisine who provided the food.
Taco Cabana in Denton hosted a Fiesta on Thursday, October 28th to help raise money for ODIS. Everyone enjoyed great music from a live DJ and ODIS received 20% of the night's gross income. Thank you to Tacao Cabana and all who came!
Frilly's restaurant on Denison in Denton helped Opening Doors Immigration Services raise $200 by donating a portion of their receipts from the night of October 21st, 2010! Thanks bunches!

On March 7th O.D.I.S. offered lunch of traditional and vegetable pasta with salad and desserts at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Opening Doors especially thanks A.J. Garcia, Gloria and Vance Richardson, Belle Spier, and Rahna Raney for their assistance in providing and preparing the food. Thanks also to all the volunteers who helped, and to those who generously contributed their money to the cause.

The ODIS Informal Spanish Class will begin on September 20 at 6:00 at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 2200 N. Bell Av. in Denton and will continue on a weekly basis until December 7. The price of the class is $35 per participant per semester, which goes to support the mission of Opening Doors Immigration Service. Send questions to hagan@unt.edu. Task Force on Human Trafficking visited ODIS and made a informative presentation on the issue of human trafficking on November 14th at

Opening Doors Immigration Services extends its thanks for an additional grant in the amount of $4,000 from the Dallas Women's Foundation. This competitive grant followed our participation in the DWF's Emerging Agency Leadership Institute (EALI).
Opening Doors Immigration Services would like to thank Dallas Women's Foundation who have selected ODIS to receive a Mrs. H. L. (Ruth Ray) Hunt Memorial Fund Grant of $20,000. These monies are to be put toward operating funds for May 2007 through May 2008. A portion is to go toward a start-up for our fee assist program. Clients who qualify may receive assistance in paying ODIS fees. While they will still have to pay the government fees, this program will help many who are qualified to apply or petition but who find that money is the prohibitive factor. Opening Doors Immigration Services is proud to announce that it has been awarded this year's Community Service Award (2008) from the University of North Texas College of Public Affairs and Community Service. ODIS is grateful to the College for this recognition of its service to Denton and the surrounding communities.
